The company’s digital gurus went four-for-four in the annual Muse Creative Awards, bringing home platinum wins for every campaign they entered into this international contest.

The diverse group of winners includes the digital outreach for the acclaimed drama, “Hostiles,” the breakthrough #LiveLifeAnimated brand campaign for DreamWorks Animation and the PR and digital marketing for the Oscar-winning short film, “Dear Basketball,” which won in both of those categories.

Spearheading the work for R&C: Craig Greiwe, Nicole Wool, Courtney Allen and Lauren Jones. The Muse awards, now in their third year, recognize “the creative professionals who are the lifeblood of the global marketing communications industry.”

R&C’s execs varied their approach to fit the challenges and demands of each project. The tactics ranged from a highly segmented, ad tech-driven campaign around “Hostiles,” an intense Western starring Christian Bale and Rosamond Pike, to the family-friendly, positive-message theme of the first brand building campaign for DreamWorks Animation in 20 years.

For client Verizon’s “Dear Basketball,” the team had to walk a fine line in building buzz without overexposing the animated short’s bigger-than-life creators Kobe Bryant, John Williams and Glen Keane.

The results of the work speak for themselves. In a saturated movie-going environment, the low-budget “Hostiles” pulled in $10 million in its opening weekend, more than double the box office projections.

DreamWorks’ #LiveLifeAnimated boosted audience engagement by more than 600 percent and snagged 22 million impressions. And along with winning the most coveted prize in Hollywood, the Oscar, the social and digital effort around “Dear Basketball” earned nearly 5 billion impressions and 17 million unique engagements. It became the first-ever Academy Award win for Bryant, Keane and Verizon.
